Turkish precast concrete company Kambeton has taken delivery of a 120 tonne Grove GMK5120L All Terrain crane to join its 'all Grove' fleet of mobile cranes.
Supplied by Turkish dealer Karun, the five axle crane features a seven section 66 metre main boom, topped by a 9.4 to 16 metres bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset for a maximum onboard tip height of 85 metres. An 8.1 metre insert installed between boom nose and swingaway takes that to 93 metres.
It can carry 14.6 tonnes of counterweight onboard within 12 tonne axle loadings and can also achieve 10 tonne axle loads with just over three tonnes of counterweight.
Rıza Penahi, general manager of Kambeton said: “We have relied on Grove cranes for over two decades, purchasing the first one in 1997 and we love their performance and reliability. The GMK5120L is a valuable addition to our fleet, offering versatility in tight spaces and strength for large, prefabricated elements. Given our extensive experience with Grove cranes, we are confident the GMK5120L will serve our needs for many years.”
The crane will support various projects across Turkey, particularly precast concrete construction. For most of the projects, Kambeton will rig the crane with 31 metres of boom and 30 tonnes of counterweight. It was ordered without extensions or auxiliary hoist.
