Crane rigging equipment manufacturer Kito Crosby has been appointed as official supplier of training, lifting equipment and other rigging related hardware products for The Ocean Cleanup, the non profit organisation that is helping to remove plastic waste from oceans and rivers worldwide.
Ocean Cleanup focuses in two main strategies, intercepting plastic in rivers before it reaches the ocean and cleaning up existing plastic from the ocean. The organisation deploys large scale systems to collect plastic, which is then tracked for recycling. It has also developed interceptor technology to extract plastic from rivers. Since its founding in 2013, the organisation has removed over 16,000 tonnes of plastic. The foundation, headquartered in Rotterdam, employs around 140 people and opened a regional office in Kuala Lumpur in 2023.

Kito Crosby was formed from the Merger of Crosby and Kito following Crosby's purchase of Kito in 2022. Its brands include Kito, Crosby, Harrington, Gunnebo Industries, Peerless, Straightpoint and BlokCam.
