New sales manager at Manitou UK

Manitou has appointed Phil Graysmark as access sales manager for the UK and Ireland.

He joins the company following a short period with Californian aerial lift manufacturer MEC where he was director of European operations until early last year. He has also been working with other companies on a freelance consulting basis.

In his new role at Manitou, he will be responsible for strengthening the company’s dealer network in the UK and Ireland, with a focus on the broader product range, which now includes scissor lifts, in addition to booms and mast booms.
Phil Graysmark

Phil Graysmark began his access career with Terex Financial Services in 2006, moving to Genie in 2008 as divisional sales manager for the UK, Ireland, and the Benelux area, taking over from John Fuller. At the end of 2009 he was promoted to vice president of sales for Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Russia, a job he held until he left the business towards the end of 2015 when Terex was moving all of its senior executives to Switzerland, something he was unable to do for family reasons.

He therefore moved to JCB as sales director for the new JCB Access business, a challenging position to say the least. In spite of this he spent three and a half years in the job, before leaving for LGMG where he was appointed European sales director. The company got off to a strong start, particularly in the UK where it appointed APS, and has continued to do well, but he left the business after two years to join LiuGong, leaving in 2023, joining MEC a few months later.

Sales director Peter Smyth said: “Manitou UK is delighted to welcome Phil into the company. With Phil’s experience and our wide range of access products, we look forward to offering many companies the solutions that the Manitou Group can provide. Phil has a strong track record in the local and global aerial lift business, and we are excited about the strong future we will build with him in the driving seat.”
