A linesman employed by Ausgrid, has died after contacting power lines in the Randwick suburb of Sydney.
The man, 47, (We have his name but have not managed to confirm the information beyond all doubt) received an electric shock while working on an overhead power line from an insulated truck mounted lift on Wednesday afternoon. He went into cardiac arrest which was immediately spotted by colleagues on the ground. They quickly brought him down and administered CPL while waiting for the emergency services to arrive. When they did they provided further treatment and rushed him to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead.
SafeWork NSW and the local Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
