Sany for Roadcraft

UK based rental company Roadcraft Crane & Plant Hire has taken delivery of its first Sany All Terrain crane a 60 tonne SAC600E.

The three axle crane is equipped with a six section 50 metre boom to which an optional 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension can be added for a maximum tip height of around 69 metres, while offering up to 40 degrees of offset.

The crane is rated at three metres and can manage 6.4 tonnes on the fully extended boom at a radius of up to 13 metres. Power comes from a Stage V MTU diesel driving an Allison automatic transmission with torque converter and Kessler axles with disc brakes and with a Telma retarder mounted on the third axle. The crane can travel with its entire 13 tonnes of counterweight under UKs STGO Regulations that permit axle loads of up to 16.5 tonnes.
The crane came into the yard and went straight out on its first job on a project in Liverpool.

Operations director Colin Parkinson said: “There are many reasons why we have chosen to invest in Sany as opposed to other suppliers, but the key ones are that the quality of the cranes is now equal to other manufacturers, they have strong charts, and Sany now has a presence in the UK. Based on this crane I can see the company gaining market share across Europe over the next few years”.

UK country manager Andrew Snow added: “We are delighted that Colin has placed his trust in Sany for this order and are looking forward to working with him going forward. The European market is starting to realise what we have to offer and with more products being made available for our market I expect us to go from strength to strength.”

Roadcraft was founded in 1920 by Henry J Carey to manufacture electric cargo trucks used on the Mersey docks. Today the business operates a fleet of cranes from 13 to 200 tonnes throughout north west England. Roadcraft celebrates 100 years - UPDATED
