South Korean shipyard HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has ordered two 44 tonne Liebherr Bos 4200 Board offshore cranes for a floating production unit currently under construction for deployment in the Gulf of Mexico.
The cranes offer 44 tonnes capacity at a 64 metres maximum radius. They feature rope luffing systems integrated into A-frame structures and are equipped with Liebherr's Litronic control system. Both units feature multi layer paint systems for corrosion resistance and LED lighting.

The vessel is being built at HD Hyundai's Ulsan shipyard for an Australian energy company. It will operate in the Trion field, located 180 kilometres off the Mexican coast and 30 kilometres south of the Mexico-US maritime border.
Delivery of the cranes from Liebherr's Rostock facility is scheduled for the second half of this year with the units shipped fully assembled to minimise installation time at the shipyard.
Liebherr Rostock sales manager Oliver Odebrecht said: "Securing this contract with HD Hyundai underscores the trust placed in our offshore expertise. We are proud to contribute to the project with equipment that offers maximum performance and reliability under harsh offshore settings."
Eddie Park of Liebherr Korea added: "We are honoured to support HD Hyundai with our Bos 4200 cranes for this important initiative. This collaboration highlights the strength of our offshore portfolio and our ability to provide high-performance solutions for demanding marine environments."
Service and support will be provided by Liebherr US, with long term coverage from Liebherr Mexico.
The Bos crane series has been in production since 1975. Liebherr manufactures the offshore cranes at its Rostock facility in Germany.
