UK technology company CoreRFID is developing a virtual reality interface for accessing compliance data during lifting equipment inspections and operations with Apple Vision Pro headsets.

The company's CheckedOK software manages safety inspections for engineers working with cranes and lifting equipment. The VR system is being developed to provide access to technical information during inspections at height or in confined spaces where smartphone and tablet screens may be tricky to use.
CoreRFID managing director Munzi Ali said: "We've seen situations where engineers have information in their system but accessing it effectively on site remains problematic. VR offers the potential to create unlimited screen size within a spatial environment."

The proposed system would provide access to technical drawings, inspection histories and maintenance records with hands free operation, integrating with the CheckedOK system which manages compliance for half a million sites globally.
CoreRFID will test the system using Apple Vision Pro headsets with the company will testing the system in inspection scenarios before any commercial release.
Founded in 2007 and based in Liverpool UK, CoreRFID develops bespoke RFID (radio frequency identification) solutions for the lifting industry.
