Italian rental group Mollo has acquired the rental division of Truck Mobil, including its two locations - San Benedetto del Tronto and nearby Monteprandone in the province of Ascoli Piceno on Italy’s east central coast between Ancona and Pescara.
Truck Mobil was founded at the end of 1999 by three business partners and was acquired a few years later by a local entrepreneur, Ezio Testa, and his family in an all share purchase deal. Since then, the company has grown steadily and now runs an extensive rental fleet that includes boom and scissor lifts, 3.5 tonne truck mounted lifts up to 28 metres, spider lifts, mast booms and telehandlers, along with forklifts and mini excavators.
The acquisition also extends Mollo’s branch network into Italy’s Marche region – the coastal region below San Marino.
Mollo chief executive Mauro Mollo said: “We enthusiastically welcome Truck Mobil’s rental division and its employees into our large family, Truck Mobil shares fundamental values with us, such as professionalism, trust and customer focus. Its long experience and in-depth knowledge of the territory represent an important asset for our group. We are confident that together we will be able to develop new synergies, enhance each other’s skills and continue to improve the service we offer our customers, aiming for ever more ambitious goals.”
Established in the 1970s, Mollo expanded purely organically until it set out on an acquisition trail in 2022, taking over eight companies in the two years that followed. This year it appears to have given acquisitions a rest- until now, but as continued to grow organically, to the point where its branch network is approaching 80 locations.
