German aerial work platform manufacturer Gefas has appointed Tr8con as a distributor for its Helix industrial mast booms and cranes in the Nordic region and Baltic states, including Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The products covered include the three model mast boom line - the 9.7 metre 1004XL, the 12 metre 1205-2 and the 15 metre 1508, along the IMK 35500 mast boom crane and MH 35120 mobile harness attachment crane.

Based in Vantaa, Finland, Tr8con was set up last year by managing director Sven Wiese, who previously worked as a regional manager for Dinolift and, before that aluminium scaffold company Instant UpRight. In December, the company was appointed as the distributor for Palazzani spider lifts covering the same region. It also offers Meissner safety harnesses, Alufix safety guardrails, Sicur Delta fall protection systems and Alpewa fall protection anchor points for the roofing sector.

Gefas chief executive Andreas Hänel said: “We are delighted to have found a reliable partner in Tr8con, who will make our Helix work platforms available to the industrial sector in Scandinavia and the Baltic States, regions in which we have had little presence to date.”

Tr8con's Sven Wiese added: “We would like to thank Gefas for entrusting us with this task. We see great market potential for the Helix product range in all areas of industry.”
The IMK 35 500 mast boom crane Gefas was established in 1991 in Roßla in the Southern edge of the Harz Mountains, between Leipzig and Dortmund, to manufacture special purpose machines. It quickly found its niche building self-propelled aerial work platforms, mostly its long reach Helix range of mast booms, and more recently the IMK 35500 mast boom crane and MH 35120 mobile harness attachment crane.
In 2012, Gefas agreed an exclusive distribution agreement with Hematec, which worked very well for the two parties until Hematec was acquired by French manufacturer Klubb in 2024.
