Turkish rental company Bizim Vinç has taken delivery of the first 450 tonne Grove GMK6450-1 All Terrain crane to arrive in the country, which also becomes its new flagship crane.
The six axle crane features a five section 60 metre main boom, to which the 79 metres of luffing jib can be added for a 136 metre maximum tip height. Other features include Maxbase variable outrigger set-up system and the Grove Mega Wing Lift self-rigging Superlift system, which increases capacities when installed by up to 70 percent on the main boom and up to 400 percent on the luffing jib.
The crane’s first job was for contractor Rönesans on the construction of a viaduct for a new highway being built near Istanbul’s Sazlı Bosna district, where it lifted formwork elements. Further jobs are already booked, including hangar assembly support at İGA Istanbul Airport and modernisation work at a Limak Holding cement plant.

Mahmut Efek, owner of Bizim Vinç said: “This investment has significantly increased our performance. Thanks to the compact design and the advanced technology of the crane, we can now also carry out demanding lifting work in the tightest of spaces much more efficiently. In addition to the operational benefits, this machine has also strengthened our reputation in the market and increased our visibility with customers.”
The new unit in operation
Based north west of Istanbul in Çatalca, the company runs a fleet of Manitou telehandlers, scissors, spider lifts, truck mounted cranes, knuckle boom cranes, and All Terrain cranes up to its new 450 tonne GMK6450-1.
