German rental company Gagarin has taken delivery of its first Liebherr All Terrain crane, the 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2.
The new crane arrives
The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset and a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include VarioBase variable outrigger setup and remote control system, along with Ecodrive and Ecomode systems. The company says the new crane bridges the gap between its 60 and 100 tonners and will serve as an all-rounder within the company’s fleet working on jobs including steel, construction and tower crane assembly.

Commercial director Florian Schebler said: “We are seeing growing demand for compact machines that have enough power for demanding lifts but do not require complex road permitting procedures, but with this 90 tonne crane, we can efficiently handle many jobs for which a smaller crane would be too weak, and a 120 tonne crane would already be too unwieldy.”
Established in 2015, Gagarin runs a fleet of mobile cranes, aerial work platforms, forklifts and excavators from its locations in Waldaschaff and Hammersbach. The company is also a member of the German association of independent regional rental companies, System Lift.
