Fatal electrocution
An experienced linesman, Barry Woodford, 45 died on Monday afternoon while working on a power line in Shannon, a town in the south of North Island, New Zealand.
Woodford, one of two men working from the aerial lift was replacing a cross bar on a power line pole when he
came into contact with a live power cable. He suffered burns to one side of his body. Emergency services were called and tried to resuscitate him, but he died within the hour.
The second man was uninjured.
