German rental company ESB Kranverleih of Biberach has taken delivery of a new 55 tonne Liebherr LTM 1055-3.3 All Terrain crane, its first with crane with the Liccon3 control system.

The three axle LTM 1055-3.2 - ordered at Bauma last year - has a five section 40 metre main boom and a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, which can be offset by 0, 20, or 40 degrees, providing a maximum onboard tip height of 58 metres. It replaces an older machine in the company's fleet and started work at the end of May. For its first job, it lifted a number of panels weighing two tonnes to a height of 24 metres during the assembly of a prefabricated house.

The three axle crane is highly manoeuvrable, quick to get to the job site as a 'taxi crane' and, thanks to flexible driving modes, offers maximum operational freedom."

ESB is based in Mittelbiberach, southern Germany, and was founded in 1981 by Karl Engeser Sr who has recently stepped back from day-to-day operations with Karl Engeser Jr now running the commercial side of the business and Larissa Maurer - from the third generation of the family - joining the management team in January this year. Today it runs a fleet of 11 Liebherr All Terrain cranes from 35 to 230 tonnes, with 11 crane operators.
