The new pack - which is distributed free of charge to customers - is part of a major campaign entitled ‘Setting the Safety Standard’ to further raise Health and Safety standards in the construction industry.

The pack comprises folders, posters, window stickers, Hand Arm Vibration and Dust supplements and an extensive 60-page Health and Safety handbook and is an evolution of A-Plant’s original award-winning Site Safety Pack introduced in 2006.

A-Plant’s new director for the environment, health and safety and performance standards, Douglas McLuckie, said: “The new Site Safety Pack is an exciting development for A-Plant as it encompasses a vast amount of useful information, including the most up-to-date legislation and guidelines for Health and Safety. We recognise the significance of providing detailed Health and Safety information to our customers, but also acknowledge the importance of ensuring our employees are kept informed, which we have done through various other initiatives, including the production of basic pocket guides to Health and Safety.”

As well as introducing the new Site Safety Pack, A-Plant is currently supporting the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Falls from Vehicles campaign. The company has produced a detailed ‘Falls from Vehicles’ booklet, posters, signage and a new informative section on the A-Plant website (www.aplant.com) to raise awareness of the risk of falling that workers are exposed to when accessing and/or working at height on vehicles and the actions that should be taken to minimise these risks.
