Straub to be integrated with Mateco

Mateco has confirmed that is will integrate Reutlingen based Straub Mobilmietlift rather than operate it as a separate brand. Mateco purchased Straub earlier this month and announced that its previous owner Wolfgang Straub would not be remaining with the business.

Straub Reutlingen Headquarters are relatively close to Mateco’s Stuttgart base, the company has around 500 aerial lifts in its fleet its has three other locations in Germany, plus a one depot business near Paris, France - Élévateurs Straub.

Mateco chief executive Wolfgang Roth said: “All jobs at Straub will be maintained there will be no dismissals, the excellent know-how that Straub is known for is essential to us. Our management team knows and has a deep respect for Wolfgang Straub, who has done an excellent job over the years.”

“This acquisition allows us to continue our long term expansion policy and since. Straub also has a branch in France we can broaden our European base effectively" He added.

Mateco has 17 locations in Germany and is also active in Poland and Luxemburg with a fleet of over 2,500 lifts. Three if the Straub locations are likely to be merged with Mateco while its Saarland branch will add to Mateco’s network.

In an unrelated announcement Mateco has also confirmed the surprise departure of Dr Dirk Kehler, the company’s "zweiter Vorstand" Roth’s deputy general manager.

Kehler will depart at the end of this month, Mateco has issued a statement saying: “We regret Dr. Kehler's decision to leave the company, we would like to thank him for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future. Wolfgang Roth will take over Kehler's responsibilities for the time being.”

Kehler joined Mateco in September 2006.
