Big deck JLG

JLG Launched a new product at SAIE that we missed in our reports on the show. How come? We can hardly claim that it was hidden away, it took pride of place on the front corner of the stand with frontage on two aisleways!

We might be forgiven though given that its boom was up in the air and from the ground it looked just like an 800S. And unlike most of the local exhibits it was not plastered with New! Stickers regardless of its introduction date.

The new JLG 680S at SAIE

The reason for it looking like an 800S is that in reality it is a foreshortened 800S, by reducing the working height, JLG have been able to add a massive 1.22 metre by 4.06 metre platform to the machine, specifically for tasks where space is a requirement.

The machines lift capacity remains at 230kg unrestricted, so this is not a lift for large heavy panels. It will though provide 18 metres of outreach, almost 23 metres of working height, 170 degrees of platform rotation and a very rigid platform.
