She has had to run the business by herself since then while also caring for their disabled daughter. She says that her personal challenges inspired her to work hard in what is a male dominated industry as she often struggled to be accepted and taken seriously.

Karen Gill, co-founder of everywoman, said: “Every year I am humbled by the sheer grit and determination shown by the winners of the everywoman Awards. Their passion and success is a huge tribute to them and they serve as an inspiration to women in business throughout the country. As an organisation, everywoman is proud to represent the interests of a growing number of entrepreneurs. These women deserve our recognition and congratulations.”
