What is happing to cranes in Brisbane? There were three separate accidents in the city today in which three men were injured.

The first occurred just after 8:00 this morning in Silica Street, in the suburb if Ipswich, when a crane dropped some sheet metal on 35 year-old man, trapping him under the load. Emergency services freed him and he was taken to QEII Hospital.

Barely an hour later at just after 9:00, a 30 year-old man suffered leg injuries after he was struck by a cranes counterweight at the Port of Brisbane. He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Then finally just before noon a set of lifting chains fell from a cranes hook on a site at Airport Drive, striking a 33 year-old man on the head. He was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
