Cranes in flames

There seem to have been a flurry lately of All-Terrain cranes catching fire causing massive amounts of damage, sometimes putting the crane beyond repair.

The latest report we have is of a Freo Cranes All Terrain that was badly damaged near Port Hedland in Australia.

There seem to have been a flurry lately of All-Terrain cranes catching fire causing massive amounts of damage, often beyond repair. Some companies, such as Hewden fit automatic fire protection systems. Do they work and if so is it worth making them a standard feature?

Another large brand new All Terrain crane caught fire in Germany a couple of weeks back as it was en route to Belgium for initial delivery!
