Alexander Knecht quits Terex

Alexander Knecht managing director, and more recently chairman of the board of Terex Demag has left the company “to take up a challenge elsewhere.” His role at Demag will be taken by Doug Friesen, currently vice president and general manager of Terex Cranes North America. based in Waverly.

Doug Friesen

Friesen has spent much of his career in the auto industry, he worked for General Motors’ Europe Division for 10 years before joining Toyota in Georgetown, Kentucky, where he would have become familiar with the Toyota Production System.

Friesen will move to Germany to take up the new role sometime this summer, He has worked at Terex for three to four years and is credited with the significant improvements made in Waverly in the past year or two.
