Tower crane accident takes lady operator

A female tower crane operator died in an accident in Kominternovsky district of Voronezh, a town in South West Russia late last month after her crane tipped over.

Details are still sketchy but it seems the crane, most likely rail mounted, tipped over with its jib landing on several parked cars. The tower remained at around a 30 degree angle but the crane’s cab was ripped from its location, possibly jettisoning the operator.

As far as we know there were no other casualties.
