A US based mast climber company was called on last week to send an expert to audit some mast climbing platforms in use on a plastering job following safety concerns from the user.

Hardly state of the art when it comes to front edge extensions

On arrival it was easy to see why! The platform required front edge extensions to reach the façade, minutes earlier a man had been working on that platform around 33 metres above the ground.

It makes you wonder…
How could someone supply such a platform?
How could a contractor allow it to be used?
Why on earth would someone put themselves in such danger?

There is still a big job to do.
