Link Belt appoints Columbus

Link Belt has appointed Columbus Equipment as its distributor for all of Ohio and selected counties in northern Kentucky (Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties) and southeastern Indiana (Ohio, Dearborn, and Switzerland counties).

Columbus will distribute Link Belt from all of its locations including its Columbus, Ohio, headquarters and branches in Cadiz, Cambridge, Canton, Cincinnati, Dayton, Jackson, Painesville, Richfield, and Toledo, Ohio.

Columbus Equipment was founded in 1952 by Bill Early, a tough no-nonsense cigar chomping manager, who insisted on total dedication from his team and maintained very high standards. Early had worked as a heavy equipment salesman for Carroll & Edwards, when he purchased the company on April 1st 1952 and renamed it Columbus Equipment.

He ran the company until his death in 1988 the business is still owned by his family and based at the original Columbus location. For many year Columbus was a leading Grove distributor and cranes have been an important part of the business, along with Komatsu earth moving equipment.
