Link Belt completes 548 luffer testing
Link Belt has completed testing of the 500 tonne 548 crawler crane with shipments due to start in the second quarter.
The test cranes are still on the test pads at Hitachi Sumitomo’s facility in Saijo, Japan, where they are no completing function testing and load moment calibration and verification. Shipments into North America are planned for the second quarter of 2009.

Introduced at ConExpo last March, the 548 includes a 24 to 84 metre heavy-duty boom or a 42 to 108 metre long boom, The exact specification of the luffing attachment have not yet been announced, pending testing. A planned heavy-lift attachment has yet to be completed and tested,
