Terex Cranes expands in India

T.R. Badarinarayan, previously president of Potain India, has joined Terex Cranes and opened a new sales and service centre in Pune India of which he is executive director.

Badarinarayan has over 20 years tower crane experience, until mid 2007 he was chief executive of Shirke Construction Equipments, the Potain licensee which was acquired by Manitowoc. Following the acquisition he was appointed president of Potain India, as the company is now known.

Shirke began building tower cranes in the early 1970's after signing a license deal with Richier, which was later acquired by Potain. He was also the Potain distributor for Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan.

In his new role at Terex he will initially focus on developing the Indian market for Terex tower crane products.
Badarinarayan said: “The Terex Cranes India team is made up of mechanical and electrical engineers as well as logistics specialists and commercial sales experts, who have a long history of working together. The local presence coupled with a knowledgeable and well trained staff will help ensure a positive experience for customers in India and the surrounding region, making doing business with Terex easier than ever before.”

Terex India offices


The Terex Cranes India is based in the Pentagon Tower P1 in Pune, with around 5,000 sqft of space, made up of 3,000 sq ft of sales and service offices and a 2,000 sq ft spare parts centre.
