Manitowoc could cut 22% of workforce
Manitowoc Crane Group has said that it could cut around 22percent of its to workforce or over 2,000 empyloyees during 2009 if order intake does not pick up.
Job losses would principally fall in France, Portugal, China, India and at its Shady Grove, Pennsylvania plant.
The statement was made by Eric Etchart, president of Manitowoc crane during the company’s conference call yesterday. While addressing the comapny's plans to cope with the increasing volatility in the crane market, particularly at the lighter end.
