Spotted yesterday in Glovers Meadow, Oswestry, Shropshire, UK, a photographer using a fork mounted basket, fitted to a slab type industrial forklift on the public highway.

Travelling at height

The lift came to a halt in the middle of a busy street for the occupant of the basket to take his pictures, however the mast was at a precarious angle, thanks to the camber in the road. Even more dangerous was the fact that no attempt whatsoever had been made to cordon-off the street or put any traffic warning signs in place.

This in spite of the fact that this is a very busy road, with large refrigerated trucks delivering to and collecting from a cold storage warehouse.

The situation is compounded by the fact that the protagonists were right next door to a platform rental company that could have provided the perfect machine to carry out such a job in perfect safety.

UPDATE
Having escaped an accident yesterday, the two were back at it again this morning Feb 10th!
