Snorkel Scissor check

Snorkel is asking owners of SR2770 compact Rough Terrain scissor lifts built between 2000 and 2006 to inspect their machines for cracks in the drive motor shafts.

The bulletin follows reports of wheel motor shaft failures on front and rear Parker Hydraulic drive motors used on the SR2770. Snorkel is recommending that all owners of SR2770 built between 2000 and 2006, and with serial numbers between NZ000401 and NZ060908, visually inspect their machines for possible cracking in the key way area of the drive motor shaft.

Most of these machines, which we understand were only built in New Zealand, will have been sold in Australia and New Zealand. If you have one of these machines Snorkel has issued a very good bulletin on how to carry out the inspection. It is also being distributed by the EWPA and HRIA aerial lift and rental associations.
