Tower crane protesters arrested
Two men were arrested in Newport South Wales yesterday after staging an early morning father days demonstration on the jib of a 35 metre tower crane.
The two gained entry to the crane on the site of new university building, at around 7:30 on Sunday morning and came down after almost three hours. Police shut a section of road that passed near the crane and arrested the men after they came down.

The two men were dressed in super hero costumes and suspended a banner from the cranes jib saying ‘Where's Daddy? New Fathers 4 Justice’.
New Fathers 4 Justice is a pressure group dedicated to non-violent direct action, to try and get the Government to redraft family law, which it believes is biased against fathers.
Few people witnessed the demonstration and both men were held on suspicion of trespass.
