Altec to close Lift-All plant

Altec the US based aerial lift and crane manufacturer has issued a notice that it will close the Lift-All plant in Fort Wayne Indiana starting this week, with completion by October 31st.

Altec acquired Lift-All from Hydra-Tech in December and at the time said that it had no plans for significant changes. However its notice to Indiana’s Department of Workforce it said: "Due to current economic conditions, Altec is in the process of relocating operations for logistical/consolidation reasons."

The plant employs 64 people, four of which are in engineering, no information was available on weather any positions would be relocated to Altec’s other facilities which are located in the Birmingham, Alabama, area.
