Mateco takes over Kühne

German aerial lift rental company Mateco has acquired Kassel and Göttingen based rental company, Kühne Arbeitsbühnen on the retirement of its owner Michael Kühne.

Kühne operates a fleet of 170 aerial lifts, including scissors, booms and trailer lifts, from the two locations. All of the company’s staff will remain with the business, while the two depots will join Mateco’s national network, boosting its coverage in Northern Hesse and Lower Saxony.

Kühne Arbeitsbühnen will become part of Mateco

Armin Rappen a Mateco’ chief executive said: “Kühne and Mateco have worked closely together for a number of years, this acquisition will most importantly provide an improved service to our customers in central Germany, while offering a wider product range for Kühne customers”.

The acquisition comes closely on the tail of Mateco’s purchase of Ravensburg and Kempten based Zülz Arbeitsbühnen, from Wolfgang Zülz, following his retirement last month. The Zülz included a fleet of 100 lifts, many of the truck mounts and provided depot network additions for Mateco in Baden Württemberg - southern Germany.
