Another fatality on Delhi Metro
The Delhi Metro has claimed yet another life yesterday when a man was killed after he was struck by a concrete beam that fell from the crane that was lifting it after one of the legs of its chain slings broke.
The dead man was guiding the concrete beam into position, when the chain broke, allowing the beam to fall and hit him on his shoulder.
The man was rushed to hospital where he died. There was no structural damage at the site in Punjabi Bagh, a neighbourhood in the western part of the Indian capital. An investigation is underway.
This accident follows the collapse of a launching crane on July 12th and three cranes on July 13th
