No harness = injuries
A man was thrown from the platform of the truck mounted aerial lift he was using in Portadown, Northern Ireland yesterday, after it was hit by a passing truck.
The man was taken to hospital with head and neck injuries, but we understand that his injuries are not life threatening.
The aerial lift and another parked vehicle were hit by a passing truck to such an extent that the collision caused a catapult effect on the platform which ejected the operator. From all of the local reports it seems certain that the operator was not wearing a harness.
If he had been wearing a harness with short lanyard he may well have walked away from the incident totally unharmed.
