Riwal meet the Link

The Access Link, an association of independent access rental companies in the UK and Ireland held a meeting yesterday at the Terex/Genie scissor lift facility in Coventry UK.

Members had the chance to tour the facility and learn more about Genie’s new parts and support services.

Link chairman Malcolm Bowers said “The Meeting had a wide agenda with guest speakers including the directors of Riwal UK who came along to discuss how they would like to work alongside the Link with their range of products many of which are not currently available from the fleets of link members”

“The meeting also was attended by the management team of Centre Design, one of the larger players in the Christmas decoration industry. They recently awarded their 2009/2010 work to the Link and stressed that this award was because of the Link's culture, where company owners were very close to the front line of their businesses which should result in higher levels of service care.”

“Other national accounts had been opened recently and the Link is experiencing much higher levels of activity between the members who did not feel a need to adjust their Inter-link hire rates as most were reasonably well utilised and felt it to more important to maintain high levels of safety and service care.”

“The Links membership criteria was re-established along with it's mission statement and all agreed that standards need to be raised in order not to dilute the power of the Link as an organisation.”
