Getting the big man ready

We can now reveal that it was with the help of a 45ft/13.6m articulated boom lift. The organisers were helped by Genie, one of the sponsors, which supplied a Z-45/25J for the job.

The Z45’S combination of working height, up and over reach and outreach proved ideal for manoeuvring the giants armour into place and providing the final touches before his walks through the streets of various Scottish towns.

In some of the community events the boom was incorporated into other parts of the performance. In Kirkcaldy, a town crier was raised up in the lift to come face to face to welcome the Big Man to the town and introduce him to the spectators.
