Manitex appoints Middle East distributors

US boom truck manufacturer, Manitex has appointed Darwish Bin Ahmed & Sons (DBA) - which has distribution operations in 35 countries – as its full product line distributor throughout the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Manitex has also finalised a distribution agreement for Dubai and the Northern Emirates with United Motors & Heavy Equipment, also a part of DBA Group. Both companies are also authorised dealers for German manufactured MAN trucks which will be used exclusively with the Manitex cranes in the region.

Scott Rolston, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Manitex International said: “Our international market expansion efforts have been very successful, in 2009 we have achieved a 100 percent increase in the business outside of North America compared to the whole of last year. We have received significant original stock orders from this new customer and with this agreement, we believe that there is opportunity for us to double that percentage again in 2010/2011."
