AFI opens Olympic depot

UK based powered access rental company AFI-Uplift has opened a new depot – AFI Leyton - 1.7 miles from London’s Olympic Park site.

Located in the Forest Business Park in Leyton, the depot offers a fleet of self propelled boom and scissor lifts for short-notice rental contracts. AFI will also base service engineers at the facility.

AFI representatives operating from the new depot include Alec Ullmer, regional sales manager, and Steve Holland. account manager. The new facility will also offer AFI’s full range of IPAF and PASMA accredited training courses to contractors working on the Olympics.

AFI says that it anticipates strong demand for training at the Leyton depot and is considering operating multiple courses, potentially on a 24 hour basis.

AFI director Graham Osmond said: “With our new depot being so close to the Olympic Park, we can provide a quick response to contractors.”
