Largest truck mounted platform in the Channel Islands?

Jersey-based Sonnic Cleaning Services has recently taken delivery of the largest truck mount on the island – a 35 metre working height Multitel J335 ALU – and possibly the largest permanently based truck platform in the Channel Islands.

Because of its size, the unit requires a special P30 licence known which allows it to operate. In addition to carrying out Sonnic’s own work, the machine will be available for hire throughout other Sonnic companies throughout the Channel Islands.

Sonnic Cleaning Services' new 35 metre Multitel J335 ALU

Sonnic Cleaning Services has operated Multitel truck mounted platforms for several years starting with an ALU20 before moving up to an MX270 which it still operates.

“The Multitel machines have given good service and have been very reliable,” said Sonnic managing director Duarte Fernandes. “After careful evaluation of all the options available, the Multitel J335 was the platform that ticked all the boxes. The J335 has fully variable outrigger jacking making it ideal for Jersey’s narrow streets and the need to work in restricted areas. It has a water line from the ground to the cage for the company’s pole wash window cleaning system, a hydraulically extending cage with a power. The truck’s relatively short transport dimensions and 300 degree jib rotation will also prove valuable.”
