New battery charger for Genie

Genie is launching a new battery charger that will be fitted to its compact slab scissor models.

The new multi voltage automatic charger is now being fitted worldwide on all ANSI, CSA and CE versions of the GS-30, GS-32 and the GS-46 Series and will follow later on the Runabout series.

Genie's new battery charger

The company says that the four main improvements in the charger which is manufactured for Genie by Signet, includes:
-A charging programme that optimises battery life.
-Relocation of the charger plug from the side to the rear of the scissor (except on units for the Australian market) to make it less susceptible to damage.
-An AC power indicator has been added.
-Better diagnostic capabilities.

The new charger is also available for retrofit and can be ordered through the Genie parts department. The rear charger cord kit will be available in early 2010 and will be sold separately. The new charger will also be introduced in early 2010 for the following products: GR, GRC-12, QuickStock Lift, TZ-34 and the TZ-50.

Jeff Weido, product manager, scissors said: “Through extensive field research and customer feedback, we decided to move forward and improve the performance and durability of the slab scissor charger. The new battery charger offers overall improved battery performance for the slab scissors line, resulting in an even better product.”
