Lift, the Leicester, UK, based crane company were one of the few UK crane rental companies to make it across to Bauma for the start of the show and one of their first taks was to purchase a Unic 706 spider crane..

The new 706 will be the largest mini-crane in the Lift fleet taking their existing Unic crane fleet to 10 units.

The Lift company is part of Darren Lee Construction, steel erectors, welders and on-site fabricators. There are 40 people employed between the two companies including 12 CPCS trained operators.

Both companies work nationally and have been working for the past 18 months on the London Olympics site. The new crane will be delivered during the first week of May and will be utilised for installing mezzanine floors to the new Walkers Crisps project and for steel erection on the Olympics site.

Darren Palfrey of Lift said “we wanted to keep our fleet consistent – the Unic cranes have proved to be reliable.”
