That big Nifty deal

Some of you will recall that a major order for Niftylift HR21 Hybrid articulated boom lifts was placed at Vertikal Days which we were unable to provide details of at the time.

We can now reveal that the buyer, cropped from the photo we published in oiur review, was the Lavendon group for its UK operations - Nationwide Platforms and Panther.

Richard Miller, sales and marketing director at Lavendon Access Services, placed the order with John Keely, managing director of Niftylift during the event in mid June.

John Keely (L) seals the order with Richard Miller of Lavendon

Miller said: “The HR21 Hybrid provides industry leading safety standards, with the added benefit of being environmentally friendly. We work closely with many large contractors who are striving very hard to reduce their impact on the environment. Add in its compact dimensions, low weight and 12.60m outreach and the SiOPS we feel confident that this investment supports our commitment to providing our customers with the safest most productive solutions available when working at height.”

When running on electric, the HR21 becomes a zero emission machine that can work inside or out. When running on diesel, the ‘hybrid’ power system allows the electric motor to automatically assist the diesel engine, boosting the power available.
Keely added: "We are dedicated to developing new products that offer class leading performance but are also environmentally conscious, reliable, and safe to use. We believe that the HR21 Hybrid AWD represents the template for future hydraulic work platform design.”
“Lavendon is demonstrating this same commitment to its customers with this purchase and we anticipate that this mindset will continue to spread due to the example set by such forward-looking companies.”
Vertikal Comment

While Lavendon has preferred to keep the exact value or size of the order confidential it is, we understand, substantial and one of the few orders the company will be placing this year as it continues to resize and age its fleet following the acquisition of the relatively young Platform Company fleet in 2008.

Nifty’s HR21 must surely be one of the best selling 60-70 ft articulated boom lifts in the UK this year and one of the best in Europe as a whole. With Lavendon now promoting them the future of the Hybrid, SiOPS and Tough Cage concepts looks very bright.

Competitors should take note!
