Ruthmann makes 48 on two
Ruthmann will launch a 48 metre platform - the T480 - on a two axle chassis at Apex next week.
The new machine is the second of the two new Height Performance products that the company had planned for this year, the first being the 40 metre T400 which will be displayed in Amsterdam next week..
The new lift will feature a similar configuration to the current T460, but with 48 metres working height and up to 31 metres of outreach. As with other machines in the Height Performance range the T480 will have a platform capacity of 600kg.

Ruthmann says that when it looked at introducing a new two axle machine into the 45ft market its customers and other users said that 46 metres would be ideal for a two axle machine and so it developed the T-460, the first in its Height Performance range, and launched it at Intermat 2012. However at the same time its engineers developed a higher version – the T480 – for launch whenever.
There are now a total of six models in the range with working heights from 38 to 72 metres, and so far the company has sold 100 units. With Bronto introducing its new 47 metre S47XR and Palfinger the P480NX at
Apex, the company decided that the timing was right to announce the availability of the T480. So far it has not built any, nor does it have any orders, but the documentation is complete allowing it to produce machines should customers require a 48 metre unit.
Ruthmann will have a new 40 metre model, the T400 on show at Apex and plans to launch two smaller models at the event, the 23 metre T230 and 19 metre T190.

SO - Ruthman bring out a 40 metre, Palfinger bring out a 48 metre with some real good features, so Ruthman produce a drawing with a hypothetical 48 metre saying we were going to do it all along. Sour grapes for coming second I say!
