Manitowoc adds sales director for Brazil
Manitowoc has appointed Rene Porto as its new sales director for its Brazilian division, and will be stationed at the company's office in Barueri, São Paulo.
Porto joins Manitowoc from Sany, where he was commercial director for its wind energy division for a year. Before that he spent four years as commercial director for the company's heavy equipment division.
He began his career in 1999 as a client support analyst for Citibank, where he stayed for over two years whilst completing his bachelor degree. In 2003 he became marketing trainee for food company Parmalat, before moving on to media firm Rede Globo as a sales executive.

In 2007 Porto took a job as sales administration and marketing manager at Manitowoc, where he stayed for three and a half years, before he moved onto Sany to become marketing manager, a position he worked in for 11 months.
Porto said: “The crane market in Brazil is constantly evolving, which demands that Manitowoc be agile in its operations. By putting the customer as the center of our focus, we can help them improve their own operations and become more profitable.”

Porto's variety of experience and climb through the web of corporate life should serve him well to serve those he works with. It is a pleasure to read about a professional person like him. Good luck and keep selling Rene.
