The Aichi RV041 in need of the right batteries
In his own words:
“I am trying to sort out an ongoing battery problem with an Aichi RV041 electric tracked scissor lift. it has had truck batteries and leisure batteries fitted in the past and I have been given the task to sort it out. I can’t find any battery information on the internet. I would have thought it would have 4 x 6 volt batteries fitted but the regular ones (trojan t105) are too big. I have seen 2 x 12 volt truck type fitted but just don’t know as the fitted charger blew up the last ones. Any idea's?”

An Aichi RV041 battery chest with original batteries
We did our best and gave him some of the Aichi contact details, but he came back saying that he was still struggling.
“The battery layout is as per the pictures you sent me last month. each battery can have the maximum dimensions of length 400mm x width 175mm x height 220mm to the top of the terminals. I haven't seen deep cycle batteries in this shape before so its proving challenging but I guess you've seen them on other access equipment. hope this helps, if not get back to me.”

I have got no problem with keeping machine in a good condition and getting the most out of them, BUT to my knowledge these machines do not meet EN280 standards.
If you are interested in updating any of these machines please call Malcolm Kitt on 07712 128610 or visit www.almac-italia.com

As far as the batteries for the RV-041 is concerned, GS YUASA?s EV-100 (12V, 100Ah) is the correct battery.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask us through our website.

We still have a substantial numbers of RV-041 in our fleet. The battery type we normally use is the EB-100 12v 100Ah. The EB-100 has been the main stream battery for our small platforms for many years.
