Ron Jackson 1951 - 2019
We have received the sad news that access industry veteran Ron Jackson passed away suddenly on Tuesday following a period of illness.
He retired from JLG at the end of 2015 after 35 years with the company. He joined JLG from the fork truck industry back in 1981, initially as a driver/demonstrator and became a senior product manager with the company, widely respected for his knowledge, experience and possibly more importantly his patience, consistency and good nature. He would have been 68 this week.

Ron Jackson
Karel Huijser of JLG Europe said: “Ron was considered to be instrumental for the development and evolution of JLG’s access products and contributed to the growth of our organisation in the EMEA region. Ron lead by example through his professionalism and passion for the access equipment industry. Thinking of Ron, we will remember his sense of humour, loyalty and passion and are grateful for so many shared memories. He was in many ways a true gentleman and probably the nicest person I have ever met. We wish to express our condolences to his family, close relatives and friends and hope they can find comfort and strength during this difficult time.”
Ron Jackson was true professional and true gentleman, three years ago the industry lost one of its finest individuals, the world has now lost one of the good guys.

Devastating news - Ron was a "go-to" man at JLG when we were a regional UK dealer in the 90's and was a massive help to us - and the entire JLG dealer network - over the years. Quiet and unassuming, he had a wealth of knowledge and his contribution to the evolution of JLG in Europe from the early years cannot be underestimated.
So sad that he didn't get to enjoy a lengthy and well-earned retirement. He will be greatly missed by all.

The tributes and honors written in this post make me sad that I never got to meet Ron. Condolences to his family and colleagues in the fantastic but challenging world of work at height where gravity rules. RIP Ron and thank you for making a difference.
The Work Platform Industry will miss Ron Jackson. Always a gentleman, and in my time at JLG, in our visits to Hagerstown and McConnellsburg, we would visit the Outlet centre, a 6'5" Scot and a 6'4" Australian. The Americans didn't get our different accents, and we were both looking for similar size clothes and shoes. Ron was a gadget man, liked his specialised Apps, and remote control Helicopters. After our retirements, we connected up on FaceTime, and had only just messaged by text as he went back into hospital. I will meet up with him in the future, and we can have a good chat again. Rest in Peace, Ron.

What a tremendous shame that he did not get to enjoy the fruits of a long retirement. Ron was indeed a true gentleman an honest professional and an industry character. Sincerest condolences to his family, friends and former colleagues at this sad time.
Such sad news, again
I first met Ron when he was driving his Jerrdan, roll back truck, with probably a 40F on board -way back in the day !!
We struck up an excellent & long lasting relationship, as he did with so many
Truly one more of the very good guys that have recently departed
RIP my good friend
