Genie adds UK service provider
Genie has appointed Middlesbrough based MACS (Mewps And Cherry Picker Services) as an Authorised Service Provider.
The company was set up in 2017 by Michael McDonald and in that time has expanded its workforce and moved to larger premises. McDonald has almost 20 years experience in the access equipment industry working for various companies including Genie, however saw a gap in the market in the North East of England.

Middlesbrough-based MACS has been appointed as a Genie service provider
“Becoming an ASP for Genie was the icing on the cake for us,” he said. “We have worked hard over the past two years to build a reputable business and now have a strong client base throughout the UK. Genie is a brand we specialise in - as I previously worked directly for Genie UK - so it was an honour to be asked to be an Authorised Service Provider and to be back working alongside a great team.”

“Our new large workshop in Middlesbrough allows us to buy in machines, repair and service them and give them a full respray/overhaul if needed, ready to sell on. It enables us to tackle any larger repairs in a controlled safe environment, as well as attending repairs offsite at customer locations.”
Currently about 70 percent of MACS work is based in North East England but an increase in work both locally and further afield means plans are in place for further expansion.
