New rental company

New UK tool and small equipment rental company Rapid Hire Group plans to start offering powered access from a new location in Liverpool.

The company - based at offices in North Liverpool - was established around six months or so ago by Andrew Brennan, who previously spent three years with powered access rental company Aspire. He began his career in 2011 as a salesman with builder’s merchants Howdens, leaving after four years to join the rental industry, with Boels UK as a key accounts manager, leaving for Aspire four years later.

The new premises in Liverpool

Rapid Hire kicked off with small tools, ladders, alloy towers and a couple of low level push around lifts, but has big plans to expand through 2023, with the addition of slab electric scissor lifts before moving on to booms and larger scissors.

When he registered the business last July, Brennan said: “After many years of fighting with my head and my heart on what I wanted to do I have finally taken the massive leap of faith and become the founder of Rapid Hire Group. The company took over the new premises yesterday and will run the location as Rapid Hire North West, which it registered in November and will shortly be operational.

Vertikal Comment

It seems that several new companies are setting up this month in the UK, in many cases by those who previously worked with larger companies. In most cases they are relying on re-rental to help with the start up and gain some traction.

Last week Ex Riwal managers Steve Skeates and James Faulkner established Reactive Rentals in Leighton buzzard, offering big boom lifts, such as the Genie SX 150 telescopic and big JLG HA articulated booms.

Every hire company will cross hire each day. Some of the biggest hire companies in the UK/world have cross hire divisions but I suppose that’s ok as they have spent thousands? Do some of the big directors not sit there with their laptops placing cross hire orders? Cross hire works for everyone. Good luck to them as it clearly works and you get the better service.

It’s nice to see many companies doing well. Broker or Nationals. It’s not about spending thousands it’s about customer service and relationships. People buy from people. Hats off to Rapid

Another broker active rentals!! All the companies need to do is not supply them and the end user will have to go to the companies that actually spend thousands on equipment and staff and get them direct!!
