Further funding for Mycrane

The Dubai based online crane rental platform Mycrane, has secured further funding to finance its plans to disrupt the heavy lift heavy lift / crane rental market.

The company says that the new money - a further “multi million dollar” investment - will help fund expansion, including its recently announced foray into the USA along with Saudi Arabia, allowing it to set up its own operations in those countries. It will also be used to step up its worldwide sales and marketing activities.

The idea behind the concept is that contractors and clients in a variety of industries order the lifting equipment they need online, with Mycrane sourcing a supplier that meets the contractors needs, saving them the time and energy of the “flawed and outdated” process of making offline contacts with numerous potential suppliers.

Chief executive Andrei Geikalo said: “The trust placed in us by our investors will power the next phase of Mycrane’s growth in the coming 18 months and is an endorsement of our vision to improve the crane rental procurement process, which was outdated and flawed prior to our launch.”

Geikalo, a former manager with Mammoet Russia, founded Mycrane in August 2021 from a base in Dubai, and has since appointed a number of individuals and agents - mostly former Mammoet employees - to support his efforts.

The company kicked off its operations in Russia before moving into Qatar, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the UAE and Singapore, followed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the USA, Indonesia, Malaysia, Malaysia, Thailand and India.
Mycrane UK was issued with a 'Striking Off' application in March, just over a year after it was incorporated, and has now completed a voluntary dissolution and closed.

it seems like it's an uber for crane rental, driving prices lower along with the quality. I remember the discussion that happened some months ago about the laptop crane companies who bid for jobs and hire someone with the equipment to do the actual lifting. the easiest way is to not play the game, all you need to do is to deny these kind of jobs.

Crane lads
So basically you are going to get every crane company bidding against one and other for the work? So new corners will be cut to keep the bidding low.
