UK rental company Star Platforms has appointed John Aubin as technical director. In this new position, he will responsible for overseeing the maintenance and improvement of engineering, safety, and equipment standards throughout the business.
Aubin joins the company from Nationwide Platforms, where he has spent the last 25 years having started out in 1999 as a mobile service engineer for the company based in Southampton. After 11 years in the job he was promoted to depot service manager, and then in 2018 he was appointed regional service manager for London and the South East. Last year in December he took over as regional operations manager.

His extensive experience, leadership and vision in engineering best practices will help us achieve our strategic goals and maintain the delivery of exceptional standards in engineering."

Established in October 2014, Star Platforms runs a fleet of more than 3,000 aerial work platforms with 140 employees from its seven depots in Luton, Coalville, Reading, Thetford, Bridgwater, Tonbridge and Warrington. Towards the end of 2020 the business was acquired by the Indian manufacturer and rental company Sudhir Power, with the three owner managers Richard Miller, Steve Simmons and Bryan Freeman staying on board to run the business but under new ownership.
