In what the company describes as a new strategic role for the business he will assume responsibility for the operational running of the six GTAccess depots in England and Wales. He will be based at the company’s head office in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Long started working in the access industry more than 30 years ago with spells at Access Rentals, Hewden and Aerial Platforms before joining GTAccess in 2006. Managing director Jonathan Till said: “Tom is both well respected and well known within the access industry and has over 30 years of experience, the last 12 of which have been at GTAccess. The wealth of knowledge he will bring to this new role will enable us to successfully implement our strategic long term growth plans.”

GTAccess runs a fleet of nearly 1,600 aerial work platforms from depots in Bridgend, Bromsgrove, Gloucester, Hereford, Shrewsbury and Stoke which is in the process of relocating to new, larger, premises. Long’s first priority will be to complete the transfer of the Stoke depot to its new home just a few miles away.

Long said: “This move is an exciting new chapter for GTAccess and will allow us to provide an even better service for our customers throughout the area.
